When the aircraft is chemically free of all paint and dust another is applied before water sanding and degreasing which is also a very critical operation. A poor job here will result in the paint flaking after a very short time. Our operators make sure this never happens. Again the operation must be signed off after inspection. Now we come to the quality controllers most important function. We must display our precision of preparation paint and equipment. We measure the viscosity, note the batch number, make a test application. The test sheet is taped to the aircraft and the protective equipment is checked. The operation starts with a base primer, followed by a second primer and finally two coats og paint. Each coat has itīs special MY specifications which are controlled exactly throughout. Finally the MY thickness is measured on the dryed and hardened paint.
