Flowers, flags and banners will decorate Oslo during the Wedding between H.R.H. Crown Prince Haakon and Miss Mette-Marit Tjessem Høiby at the Oslo Cathedral. Saturday August 25th. 2001. See the church inside.
The Bride and the groom will walk the aisle of the church together. H.R.H Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark is best man and Ms Linda Tånevik is bridesmaid. The Wedding Dress is of Norwegian design. The Wedding Banquet will be hold at the Royal Palace and at the "Oslo Military Society". There will be a ball with dance at the Royal Palace after the dinner. At 11 pm there will be a grand display of fireworks over the City of Oslo. Mette-Marit Tjessem Høiby´s four-year-old son Marius and five other relations of the bride and groom will be the page and bridesmaids at the wedding in Oslo Cathedral on Saturday 25 August 2001. The bridesmaids are the twins Betina and Emilie Swanstrøm, the sisters Kamilla and Anniken Bjørnøy, and Tuva Høiby. ![]() Betina and Emilie Swanstrøm are eight years old and are the daughters of H.M. The Queen´s nephew, Dag Swanstrøm, and his wife, Anne Karine Swanstrøm. The two girls live in Oslo and attend Vinderen school. Kamilla Bjørnøy is 12 years old, and her sister Anniken is seven. Both attend Wilds Minne school in Kristiansand. They are the daughters of Mette-Marit Tjessem Høiby´s sister, Kristin Høiby Bjørnøy, and her husband, Per Olav Bjørnøy. Tuva Høiby is four years old, and is the daughter of Mette-Marit Tjessem Høiby´s brother, Espen Høiby, and his wife, Hege Skatvig Høiby. Tuva attends Andungen day-care centre in Kristiansand. |
![]() At the wedding in Oslo Cathedral and the wedding banquet at the Royal Palace, Her Majesty The Queen is wearing a gown, designed especially for the occasion, of emerald green moiré with bead embroidery. The Queen is wearing the sash of the Grand Cross of the Royal Norwegian Order of St. Olav with star, a brooch bearing the portrait of His Majesty King Harald V and miniatures. The Queen is wearing an emerald tiara with a matching necklace, earrings and brooch. The set of jewellery was made for the wife of Emperor Napoleon, Josephine of France. Her Royal Highness Princess Märtha Louise is wearing a bodice of pale pink duchesse satin with a nougat-coloured duchesse satin skirt. At the banquet the Princess will remove her jacket and put on a stole of taffeta moiré and pin a feather decoration on one shoulder. The Princess is wearing Norwegian gold and silver jewellery and the tiara she received from King Olav when she came of age on her eighteenth birthday. She is wearing the sash of the Grand Cross of the Royal Norwegian Order of St. Olav with star, a brooch bearing the portrait of His Majesty King Harald V and miniatures. WEDDING BANQUET AND OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPHS The Royal Court has announced that the Royal Palace is responsible for planning the menu for the banquet following the wedding of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Mette-Marit Tjessem Høiby on Saturday 25 August. The Palace kitchen will, with the assistance of Hotel Continental, prepare the food to be served at the Royal Place, while the kitchen of Oslo Military Society will prepare the food served there. The same menu will be served at the Royal Palace and in Oslo Military Society. It has been decided that photographer Svein Sturlason is to take the official photographs of the bride and bridegroom. THE RINGS The bride and groom´s wedding rings have been made in cooperation with jewellery designer Ester Helén Slagsvold and are a gift from the Norwegian Association of Goldsmiths. |
