Karl Erik Harr born in Kvæfjord near Harstad is a Norwegian painter, drawing artist, graphic artist, illustrator and art writer. He grew up in Harstad. He is educated at Statens kunstakademi (Art Academy).

He has illustrated several books, including by Knut Hamsun, Petter Dass and Erik Bye, but also books with own text. He has also performed several decorative assignments. He debuted at the autumn exhibition in 1967, and has since had a host of separate and collective exhibitions. He has also been purchased by the National Gallery. Harr had a period of a large egeneid gallery in the center of Harstad.

Ever since the 1960s, Karl Erik Harr has been one of the foremost novel artists in Norway. He works in a romantic realism with figurative, effective images, among other things, of northern Norwegian nature and life. The direction arose during the 1960s, and through the 1960s, 70s and 80s Harr, together with among others Bjørn Fjell, Arne Paus and Odd Nerdrum, arranged a series of exhibitions under the title "Romance and Realism."

Along the coast, three Coastal Steamer (Hurtigruten) ships ship with his decorations on board. The travelers are thus reminded of jektefarten, Lofot Fisheries and Trollfjordslaget. At Træna he contributed to the tour of a chapel containing 12 boards with motifs from Petter Dass Nordland Trumpet. The list testifies to outstanding productivity and work discipline.

In 2007 he was appointed Knight of 1st grade of St. Olav´s order.
