Kvalsund municipality has approximately 1.100 inhabitants and a surface area of 1.84,0 km2 of this 125 km2 on Kvaløya and 85 km2 on Seiland. Between the mainland and theese two islands there are two narrow passages called Kvalsundet and Vargsundet. Kvalsund township has a lot of fresh water lakes and the biggest is Doggevann, Nagjet, Nedre Saltvann and Trollvannet on Seiland.
Sennalandet lies 200 - 300 metres above the sea and the terrain can be described as low lying hills, marshland an many lakes. OUTDOORS
The valley in the municipal is Repparfjorddalen, Kvalsunddalen and Russelvdalen. The highest peaks are Seilandsjøkelen is 986 metres and lies on Seiland, Store Navgastat is 713 metres and Skinnfjellet which is 713 metres and lies in Kvalsunddalen.
FISHING
The biggest rivers where you can catch salmon is Repparfjordriver at Sennalandet, Skaidielva, Kvalsundelva and Russelva.
