VADSØVadsø is a multi-cultural municipality with Finnish, Saami and Norwegian populations. This can be seen in the old buildings. There are old Norwegian trading stores and Finnish buildings where livestock barns and homes are combined constructions. Unfortunately, there are no Saami homes remaining, but examples may be seen further along the fjord in Nesseby borough. This borough is a typical coastal Saami municipality.
